GPS time clock for shift teams
KronosTeam turns any phone or browser into a time clock. Every punch is stamped with the time and, when location is shared, the employee's GPS position, so you know who started work, when, and where. No wall terminal or biometric hardware to buy.
How clocking in works
The employee opens KronosTeam and taps Clock In. The browser asks for location; when it is shared, the punch is saved with latitude, longitude and accuracy. Clocking out works the same way, and the hours between the two punches go straight to the employee's timesheet.
If location is turned off and you have not made GPS mandatory, the punch is still recorded and marked as having no location, so nobody is stuck at the door because of a phone setting.
Geofencing: only clock in at work
Admins can switch on a GPS restriction and set the office location and a radius in meters. With the restriction on, a punch is accepted only when the employee is inside that radius. Someone who is too far away gets a clear message with the distance, and the punch is not recorded.
- Set the radius that fits your site, from a small shop to a large warehouse
- Out-of-range punches are rejected, not just flagged
- Location sharing can be made mandatory for clocking in
Stop buddy punching
Because each employee clocks in from their own account and the punch carries their own location, it is hard for one person to clock in for a colleague who is not there. The audit trail keeps the time and coordinates of every punch for later review.
From punches to payroll
Punches become work hours automatically. Managers see hours per employee and per day, overtime is calculated from the rates you configure, and the totals are ready for payroll without copying anything into a spreadsheet.
- Hours per employee, per day and per month
- Overtime and weekend rates you define
- Absence and leave requests in the same system
Who it is for
Teams that work in shifts or move between locations: retail and restaurants, clinics, field service, security, cleaning crews and call centers. It is free for up to 5 employees, Starter covers up to 15 for $49 per month and Pro covers up to 50 for $99 per month, all with the same features.
Frequently asked questions
Do employees need to install an app?
No. KronosTeam runs in the phone's browser, so employees clock in from the same link they use on a computer. They only need to allow location when asked.
Can an employee clock in from home?
Only if you allow it. With the GPS restriction switched on, a punch is accepted only within the radius you set around the office. Outside it, the punch is rejected and the employee sees how far away they are.
What happens if an employee turns location off?
If location is mandatory, they cannot clock in until they share it. If it is optional, the punch is saved without a location, so you can see which punches were not verified.
Is a GPS time clock legal for employees?
Tracking location only at the moment of clocking in and out, for attendance, is the common practice. Tell employees what is collected and why, and check the rules that apply in your country or sector.
