- Israel: 8.6 hours a day and 42 a week; the first two overtime hours of the day at 125%, then 150%; a night shift is 7 hours; Shabbat (from Friday sunset) and holidays at least 150%, on top of overtime
- US federal (FLSA): time and a half after 40 hours in the workweek
- California: time and a half after 8 hours a day, double time after 12; the seventh consecutive day of the week at time and a half, double after 8 hours
How to read the result
Each row is a group of hours paid the same way, with the rate as a percentage of the hourly wage. Hours counted as daily overtime are not counted again toward the weekly limit, so a long day does not push the rest of the week into overtime twice.
From one week to the whole team
The calculator uses the same engine as KronosTeam's payroll. In the app it runs on every clock-in of every employee, adds approved vacation, sick and reserve-duty days, and produces a monthly file for your payroll software.
Frequently asked questions
Is the result legal advice?
No. The rules are a starting point that matches the law as we understand it. Contracts and collective agreements can pay more. Check with your payroll advisor.
Does it handle a shift that crosses midnight?
Yes. Enter an end time earlier than the start time and the shift ends the next day.
